A group of students of the Collège Antoine Courrière Cuxac-Cabardes recently participated in the Spring Science in Fez, Morocco, as part of the European Mobisciences programme, which aims to promote mobility and exchanges around science among young people from different cultures.

At this event, the students presented their project entitled « Renovating Paradise », which forms part of a concrete reflection on water management. Based on their personal experience – water restrictions increasingly frequent in their area due to droughts – students have chosen to work on the renovation of a building in their school, called « Paradise », looking for solutions to save water and better value it. This project addresses local issues related to climate change, while developing a scientific and citizen approach.

In parallel with the presentation of their work, the students participated in several cultural workshops: creation of mosaics, pottery, discovery of the medina of Fez and visit of the Museum of Arms in Borj Nord. These activities have enabled rich intercultural exchanges, linked to the objectives of the Mobisciences programme.

The project « Renovating Paradise » will also be presented at Exposciences Occitanie on 21 and 22 May at the University of Toulouse (campus Paul Sabatier).
