The iGEMINI project

The objective of the Toulouse team's project, iGEMINI, was to answer the following question: how to produce fresh food supplements for spationauts? The team has designed a system of production of nutrient yeasts enriched with Provitamin A and intended to be ingested by astronauts as food supplements to compensate for the nutrient loss of vitamins during long space trips. This innovative, quasi-autonomous system uses scarce resources in the spaceship. Users will be able to choose the taste of their yeast according to their preferences through a light regulation system.
