On 3 and 4 June 2026, Exposciences Occitanie was held at the University of Toulouse, a gathering that highlights children and young people aged 5 to 25 so that they can present their scientific and technical projects with the general public. This event allows them to learn more about the world around them.
For this edition, 28 projects, 230 young people and a dozen classes came to share this exchange moment.
An event that brings together all nationalities
This year, 26 projects from 4 departments (L'Aude, Lot, Tarn and Haute-Garonne) and 7 different countries, over 300 young people and a dozen classes came to share this exchange moment.
7 international delegations came to us to present their projects in the framework of European Erasmus+ exchanges. We welcomed Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Morocco, Italy and Mexico.
We had prepared for them a small onion program with visits to the most emblematic places of Toulouse such as the Capitol, the Cité de l'Espace, the Machine Hall and many others! It was a rich experience and we all come out and grow up. Thanks to the international participants for making the way to us.
Projects designed by young people... for all audiences!
The youth-driven stands covered a wide variety of themes: environment, new technologies, biodiversity, chemistry, astronomy, philosophy, health...
Through these presentations, interactive and fun workshops were offered by partner associations: Les Petits Débrouillards, Léo Lagrange, les Francas, Les Maths en Scène, FREDD, ARESO, REF 31, Migado, DIRE Environnement, among others. So many actors mobilized to make science alive, concrete and accessible to all.
Days of science
The beginning of the event began with a project show proposed by Marcel Doret du Vernet College (31): The quantum night at Alice's.
During the two days mini-forums had been set up. These are moments when doctoral students share their knowledge with the youngest.
On the site of Exposciences Occitanie, two exhibitions were set up. The exhibition "Eclaires" by IRD highlighting women scientists. The exhibition on Europe set up by the House of Europe.
On Thursday, June 4th was marked by the official visit from 11am to 12pm, in the presence of Aurélie Moussi, doctor in astrophysics at CNES and godmother 2026 of the event. She then participated in a panel discussion on space vision alongside Alain Blanchard, astrophysicist and cosmologist at IRAP and Agnes Viel, PhD student in astrophysics. A moment of exchange enriching around different perspectives on space.
To close these two days in beauty, the Science Comedy Show animated a quiz on "What's Science" on Thursday night. A way to teach us while laughing.
The memory and speech of young people in honour
On Wednesday, June 3, Campus FM hosted a first live radio set from the Exposciences site in the presence of international participants. Then a second set on Thursday at noon, in the presence of Aurélie Moussi.
The Francas radio stations were also present at the scene in order to give the young people the opportunity to speak freely about their projects.
A free, open and non-competitive event
Occitanie is a free, inclusive and non-competitive event, true to CIRASTI values. It celebrates curiosity, knowledge sharing, and the commitment of young people to a scientific approach that serves society.
